Dancing Season

Fall is a metaphor for our journey to London. One day a gentle breeze blows cool through the open window signaling a sweater is prudent for a walk. The next day, sun blazes high overhead and sweat drips down the middle of my back.

Just when you think it’s time to take a giant leap forward, God says, “No, just one little baby step.”

Sabbath is a reminder that even the leaves don’t blush and drop without God knowing about it. He is Lord of your seasons.

Two steps forward and one step back is the dance of transition. Why expect anything else?

Whether slipping into sandals or pulling on boots, may you know God is present in your rest this weekend.

Happy Sabbath Friends!

Well, I *get* this Shelly! I put on a fur-lined sweater today, earmuffs, and gloves for a walk, and amazingly, Mike and Sheridan, who’ve driven even north of here for a family reunion, said it was warm and sunny! It’s really been gray and overcast in ST. L. today. So there you have it: two interpretations of autumn–completely opposite. But we know who controls the weather, huh? Just like He is controling your times. Was just saying to Jillie H, who was saying how much she loved your writing and your wise musings on England, that I hped you would get to move soon. Praying!!!!! But also waiting on God’s timing.
    Love

Oh Wow! I didn’t know it was already that chilly in St. Louis. It’s annoyingly hot and humid here. I’m over it. Wish it was cold, I’m ready for sweater and boot weather. That Jillie is a good one, love her.

Oh shucks…It’s flattering to be mentioned here by two of my favourite authors! Yes, Shelly, I am so enjoying your posts on the “transition” from where you are to where you’re going…eventually. It must be strange and frustrating at times in the waiting, but oh, what He is teaching you in the waiting. I have a new file for all your London posts. My best friend and her husband, my brother, are in England right now–their second time there. Exploring the back roads, meandering through cemeteries and old stone churches in the Devon area as they research family genealogy. I’m so envious, I confess. So wish I was there!
And Lynni? You surprised me with this one! You’re a sweetheart.
I love you both. Glean so much from your Spirit-led wisdom. And yes praying, Shelly, for your move in this Dancing Season.
By the way, up here in Canada where I am, the air is crisp, leaves are changing and falling, rain & sun in equal measure. I love this season of warm sweaters, cool boots, crunching through leaves, Cardinals & Blue Jays everywhere! Apple harvest. And pumpkin flavoured cookies, muffins and doughnuts at our famous Tim Horton coffee shoppes! Yummmy!
