It’s a Rest Revolution! Join Us?

“You see farmers do this all the time, waiting for their valuable crops to mature, patiently letting the rain do its slow but sure work. Be patient like that. Stay steady and strong. The Master could arrive at any time.”

~ James 5:7-8, MSG

Maybe it’s sunny outside but raining inside your house, the waiting so long you might drown in out. Or perhaps the landscape of your cluttered life is sucked dry of color that once resided in your rosy cheeks.

Time is adrift on the shore of an empty beach and you have lost your compass.

God is your anchor and rest is the rope leading you back to hope in the future.

While fear, doubt and worry flood your inboxes, a rest revolution is starting. In bedrooms, sanctuaries and parking lots people are waiting for God’s anointing.

It seems the media covets our attention but God whispers, “Listen.”

And when we stop and pay attention, miracles happen.

We’re experiencing some quiet, behind the scenes transformation among our little Sabbath Society community that is growing into a Rest Revolution. This isn’t about creating status updates and shouting to the masses but patiently waiting on God’s power and presence in the midst of world chaos.

In September, join me here for what I’m calling a Rest Revolution, a reflective look through storytelling about the ways in which Sabbath changes us. On September 3, we’ll begin Redemptions Beauty Book Club, discussing 24:6 — A Prescription for a Happier, Healthier Life by Dr. Matthew Sleeth. Dr. Sleeth will join us that same day with a guest post and giveaway of his book to start the series. Mark it on your calendar, tell your friends and join us. It’s going to be quietly epic.
