There Is A Love
There is a love that tumbles like a stream,
Frothing and foaming down a budded way;
There is a love like ocean depths that move
Hidden, eternal – winter as in May.
There is a love that stumbles through its lines,
Trying to say what love can never say;
There is another – patient, tender, strong
Serving and blessing till the close of day.
~Philip Jerome Cleveland (1903- )
Praying that you experience the shoreless sea of His love this weekend. Drink it in without guilt, accept it without trying to do anything to earn it. And when you feel parched from what life squeezes from you, remember the sea is always full for you. His loves never empties.
Happy Saturday Friends!
Beautiful Poem.
You are sharing us the LOVE of Jesus which no words could say enough about, and human thought could never fathom. Thank you for finding this for us.
I love wading into LOVE waters with you. Peace and blessings to you and yours, over the weekend.
“His loves never empties.” I will take this with me tonight — as I feel so very empty. Beautiful, as always <3
As will I!
Beautiful, Shelly!!
Michele-Lyn thinking about you and praying. Hope you are filling up with all that is Him.
The poem is beautiful - I had never heard it before. And your words, “the shoreless sea of His love…” Just amazing! Have a blessed weekend!
The shore less sea.. I like that. To think that His love is limitless is hard to fathom. Beautiful photos and words. Blessings!
Shelly, “There is a love….” I’d never read this. Beautiful!
The sea is where I always go, to restore my heart, my mind, my irritations go away, the deep hard places of life seem to be lighter there. It is a place of comfort for me.
Me too Sharon.
“There is a love…” — that’s soothing and lovely. Where did you find this poet?
Redemption’sbeauty, Congratulations on 22 years! What an adventure and pirvilege, huh? Yes, that choosing of him every day…
Thank you for stopping by my post “He Spoke Huskily.”

I found it in a book of poetry I have called the Sacrifice of Praise. Poets from Caedmon to the Mid-Twentieth Century. Thanks for coming by Jennifer.
Beautiful! I think that is why my most favorite place to be still is at the shore watching the earth fall away.
Beautiful poem and your photography is stunning, my friend. I had to read it more than once to drink in the fullness of what it offers. My parched places are less so now.
Lovely, Shelly. May you spend your weekend wading in His love.
Will be seeing the Pacific in Oregon in late October…can hardly wait. LOVE to watch and listen to the waves. So reminding of the Lord’s power, His overwhelming love and forgiveness, His redemption. As I said, I can hardly wait.
Love your photos.
It’s a good time to be at the ocean, in the Fall when it isn’t so busy. Something to look forward to indeed.
“His love never empties”… I love this! 🙂 Stopping by from Still Saturday
Feeling rather empty today. Bruised feelings. Wounded pride. Being humbled. Need His ocean waves to wash over me, cleansing me, filling me. Trying hard to remember how HE loves me, even when doubting the love and sincerity of others. Thank you Shelly.
“the shoreless sea of His love”…..leaning the weight of me
back to float on this salty water that won’t let me sink,
rocking me gentle and safe.
Oh thank you, friend, for the sweet nudge to let it carry me:)
