Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without the words,
And never stops at all,
And sweetest in the gale is heard;
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.
I’ve heard it in the chilliest land,
And on the strangest sea;
Yet, never, in extremity,
It asked a crumb of me.
May you rest in hope today, knowing His love for you is like a shoreless sea.
Happy Saturday friends!
Hope seems to be the theme of the weekend – for me it is the theme of my life! I just posted on FB, the lyric “I am stuck like a dope of this thing called hope and I can’t get it out of my heart!” From a very old Broadway musical!!!!
I hear the sacred echoes called hope too. So nice to meet you.
What a lovely post…it leaves me sunning on a warm rock on the beach…(even though it’s turned rather cold around here!)
It has been cloudy and rainy all day. This was last week, the hope of tomorrow.:)
I feel so warm and blessed! Thank you.
Cold and rainy in Beijing today — seems weather better suited for this scene! Thanks 🙂
It was fierce and stormy here today Amy. I took these last week when it was gorgeous.
Lovely photo, Shelly, and the perfect verse to go with it.
Love the pictures…so beautiful.
Beautiful pictures and wonderful words of encouragement. I love the beach anytime and to watch the birds is a bonus.
This is simply beautiful, Shelly. Thank you.
Thank you for this beautiful reminder Shelley! Love the pictures!
I just love this poem (our daughter, born still, was named Hope & I often bring the first verse of this poem to mind when I think about her).
Thank you – and blessings to you
this poem is new to me Deborah, but you have given it deep meaning now. Thank you so much for sharing your heart here, I really appreciate it.
This is simply beautiful! Thank you for words that sank deep today. Bless you!
Just beautiful, Shelly! Sigh…
Lovely words. How providential that so many are writing of hope!
So familiar with the first two lines. But those next one–sings the tune without the words. Savoring that one.
Thanks for reminding me to breathe in deep, friend. Love that poem…
Great post! The color in these pictures is so beautiful! Great captures!
Thanks so much. I had a ball sitting on those rocks and taking photos of them.
