Look at Them!

by | Apr 21, 2012 | Saturday, Uncategorized

Hope is the thing with feathers

                That perches in the soul,

And sings the tune without the words,

And never stops at all,

And sweetest in the gale is heard;

And sore must be the storm

That could abash the little bird

That kept so many warm.

I’ve heard it in the chilliest land,

And on the strangest sea;

Yet, never, in extremity,

It asked a crumb of me.

~Emily Dickinson

May you rest in hope today, knowing His love for you is like a shoreless sea.

Happy Saturday friends!

    Hope seems to be the theme of the weekend – for me it is the theme of my life! I just posted on FB, the lyric “I am stuck like a dope of this thing called hope and I can’t get it out of my heart!” From a very old Broadway musical!!!!

      I hear the sacred echoes called hope too. So nice to meet you.

    What a lovely post…it leaves me sunning on a warm rock on the beach…(even though it’s turned rather cold around here!)

      It has been cloudy and rainy all day. This was last week, the hope of tomorrow.:)

    I just love this poem (our daughter, born still, was named Hope & I often bring the first verse of this poem to mind when I think about her).

    Lovely words. How providential that so many are writing of hope!

    So familiar with the first two lines. But those next one–sings the tune without the words. Savoring that one.
