“O God of peace, who hast taught us that in returning and rest we shall be saved, in quietness and in confidence shall be our strength: By the might of thy Spirit lift us, we pray thee, to thy presence, where we may be still and know that thou art God.” ~Book of Common Prayer
Wherever your weekend wanderings take you, may you experience God breathe in the stillness . . . over soapy sinks, under rainy showers, on silent rides to the grocery store, walks along sandy shores and empty curbs, beside canopies of branches chirping songs of worship. Happy Saturday friends!
Oh, I feel the knots relaxing already.
Just being near the water does that to me. Thanks for the link up today Sandy.
H just got a copy of the Book of Common Prayer. He is rarely without it these days. And that blessing? I am claiming it for myself tonight. It is so sweet, Shelly.
It seems the Lord has you and H on a bit of a journey at the moment. Exciting from my point of view.
Amen!
Happy Saturday to you too Shelley!
How funny! I’ve already experienced the first three things on your list and it’s only 6:30 a.m.!
wow, your productive Kim. I slept in today and lingered awhile on my back porch. Took a shower before dinner and never left the house today. It was lovely. Hope you have a great day of worship tomorrow.
: ) Soapy dishes- check. Enjoying a rain shower- check. Grocery run- in a few, after I finish drinking my coffee and enjoying this quiet beautiful morning!!!!
I love Saturdays, or as my kids call them “Daddy Days!”
Oh good. Was trying to think of things common to all of us. Those are the places I snatch some quiet and usually hear Him most clear. And yay for Daddy Days . . .love that.
I’ve been wanting to get a copy of the Book of Common Prayer for a long while now – this may be the incentive to push me over to Amazon. Happy weekend to you Shelly- grace, peace, joy.
I use it for daily scripture readings which you can also get at http://www.esvbible.org. That Book of Common Prayer is like holding the breathe of life some days. To you too Michelle and thanks for sharing my story on FB today. Always appreciate your generosity.
After a long week of rain we woke to sunshine. My heart is lifted.
Yay for sunshine Robin. Saw your sweet pictures with the grandbabies in your arms. I’m sure you weren’t even thinking about the rain! Love you friend.
Ahhhh…just reading this helped me relax my tense shoulders, take a deep breath and release the anxiety!
So glad Cristal. Breathe deep friend.
Thank you Shelly, your words are comforting and relaxing! I love quiet times when I can soak in His presence!
Me too Laura. Enjoyed some time on my back porch with a good book and the birds today. Bliss.
A time to speak and a time to remain silent. 🙂 I love listening for his ‘breath’ in the silence of a quiet weekend. Thanks for sharing this
What a beautiful blessing. Thank you!
