The Color of Redemption

by | Dec 9, 2011 | Five Minute Friday

We walk off the plane, eyes glazed, bodies tired.  Stand waiting for the train and I look at the others standing on the deck.  I lean over and say to H “I guess if you come to London you must wear a black or grey coat.”  He looks around, laughs and says, “Yes, I guess your right.”

A sea of black and grey waiting for the train under a canopy of darkness. Dangling stars to guide the way.

When I awake the next morning, look out my window, the sun shines bright over London and awakens slumbering souls. Because grey is the common color overhead and this sun is a gift because it illuminates the colors of the city.

Later, as I walk along crowded sidewalks among the other black coats, He shows me his glory, in the colors that radiate and reveal beauty.

A window to the soul.

A door that beckons, “Enter His gates with joy.”

A journey on foot to see with binocular view.

Find beauty through the looking glass of His heart amidst the grey of life.

Isn’t this Christ?  Beauty revealed in the midst of pain, joy in the midst of sorrow, hope in the midst of despair.

Those colors, they whisper rejoice, rejoice, rejoice . . .

The day Mary placed him in the straw, He colored in the story of my life, your life with redemption.

O Come let us adore Him.

“I don’t know whether he is a sinner,” the man replied.
“But I know this: I was blind, and now I can see.” ~John 9:25

The window with the spikes (to deter the birds??) look like lashes on a eyelid. 🙂 Thank you for sharing how you “see.” Beauty shouts redemption. Thank you, Shelly.
